Mary Shia – Director of Individual and Corporate Giving

Mary came to I2UD from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard. Since 1998, she has served there as a member of the development leadership team and as director from 2001-2006, working with faculty and alumni on fundraising. She directs all of I2UD’s fundraising with the Board and works closely with the President, the Associates, the Board, and leading benefactors. She also oversees I2UD’s communications activities to the Board.

During her years at the GSD, Mary served initially as major gifts officer, then as assistant director and later served as director of development and alumni relations. As director, she was responsible for fundraising with the School’s top donors as well as managing financial aid funding and alumni relations.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of Massachusetts, summa cum laude, and a master’s from Harvard concentrating in anthropology and archaeology.
